Jimco Fire Protection is sparking early interest in fire safety and careers in fire protection by hosting field trips for second-graders! These young students experience an interactive tour of the facility, see sprinkler plans in action, and learn firsthand how fire sprinklers work to protect lives and property. Beyond just fire safety education, Jimco’s program introduces kids to the world of fire protection as a potential career path. By introducing students to the different roles and opportunities in this field, Jimco is inspiring the next generation to consider a future in fire protection and safety. Greg Dittenber, co-owner of Jimco, notes that the students’ enthusiasm is contagious—they ask thoughtful questions, soak up the information, and leave with a genuine understanding of what a sprinkler is and how it works. By starting this education in elementary school, Jimco is helping lay the groundwork for fire safety awareness and a career in the fire sprinkler industry. It’s an inspiring initiative that introduces the next generation to the critical role fire protection systems play in our communities and how they can be a part of it. As Halloween creeps closer, don't let fire safety slip into the shadows! The NFPA reports that an average of 835 home fires start with decorations each year, with nearly half caused by decorations placed too close to a heat source and about a third ignited by candles. A few simple precautions can help make sure Halloween remains a festive, fire-safe holiday. Keep decorations away from open flames, opt for battery-operated candles in jack-o-lanterns, and stay aware of fire hazards at parties and trick-or-treating events. A little extra caution goes a long way in keeping everyone safe. #FireSafety #halloween #firesafety #firesafetytips
