There is a desperate need for innovation in diabetes. The numbers are staggering and growing. Terrific panel at American Diabetes Association Leadership Forum with insights from Lisa Kroon, William Paxton Amy Starr, Maralyn Weaver, MSN, RN, CDCES encouraged by moderators,?Shagun Bindlisha and?David Shih,? both of whom are leaders in this field: Continuous, constant, engagement is key: engaging the patient, the health care providers, the care team, the family, and the community. Next is continuous education.?Diabetes continually changes in the patient, as does the care and treatment.?For example, CGMS are here today, unlike yesterday. And sometimes payor policies and drug coverage don’t necessarily keep up with innovation. ?Technology can help both education and engagement, but should be developed with the participation and collaboration of diabetes caregivers: nurses, PAs, doctors and of course families.? #diabetes #healthquity @innovationinhealthcare #futureofhealth Pier 70 Ventures
