Alison, a Healthcare Design Strategy Consultant at Blue Cottage of CannonDesign, merges her healthcare expertise with trauma-informed, empathetic design to create supportive wellness environments across various markets. As an evidence-based design certified architect, she is dedicated to reducing mental health stigma through neuroarchitecture, applying her knowledge of psychology and design to every project. ? Lari, a Healthcare Principal at KMD Architects, brings extensive experience to each project delivery phase. Focusing on understanding and translating client needs, she ensures each project reflects the client's vision while guiding the design team to address all critical elements. Did you miss our last Town Hall or need a refresher? The ACHA session, “Super PAC: Post-Acute Care in the Post-Pandemic World,” featured key insights from Heather Livingston and John Williams of the Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) on the upcoming 2026 FGI Code changes. They discussed the transition to a formal codebook and new guidelines for post-acute care spaces that will shape the future of healthcare facilities. ?? Key Takeaways from the 2026 Edition: ?? New FGI Structure: Separates mandatory code information from the non-mandatory FGI Handbook. ?? Post-Acute Care: Proposes discharge lounges and transfer units to improve patient transitions after acute hospitalization. ?? Rehab Hospitals: Updates patient room clearances and toilet room sizes. ?? Outpatient Care: Introduces new chapters on short-stay centers, post-surgery, and outpatient behavioral health crisis centers. ??
