It’s a U.S. offshore wind milestone: The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management has approved the Construction and Operations plan for Atlantic Shores Offshore Wind's Atlantic Shores 1 & 2 – a big step forward to powering nearly 1 million homes in New Jersey with emissions-free energy. “This offshore wind farm will unleash economic growth through construction of the project, plus a new operations and maintenance facility in Atlantic City,” said ACP VP of Offshore Wind anne reynolds in a new statement. “Atlantic Shores South is expected to support tens of thousands of jobs in construction and maritime trades and inject more than $1.9 billion into the Garden State economy.” Read our full statement: https://bit.ly/3zShFVf

NEW: The U.S. energy storage market experienced significant growth in the second quarter, with the grid-scale segment leading the way at 2,773 MW and 9,982 MWh deployed. ACP & Wood Mackenzie’s Energy Storage Monitor shows it was the second-highest quarter on record for total installations with California, Arizona, and Texas responsible for 85% of installations. Ahead of this week’s #ACPRT24, attendees joined #ACPmember ?rsted for an educational tour of their Eleven Mile Solar project, a 300 MW solar and 300 MW/1200MWh battery energy storage system project in Arizona. The solar farm has over 857,000 solar panels on about 2,000 acres, and the battery project is a 300 MW, four-hour system – storing a total of 1,200 MW of power over the four-hour period. The project will generate over $80 million to the local community for public services in the form of tax revenue over the project’s lifetime.
