BREAKING: Today, we sued the U.S. Border Patrol on behalf of the United Farm Workers Of America and five Kern County residents for its brazen and unlawful immigration raids in Bakersfield last January, where its agents indiscriminately stopped and arrested day laborers, farmworkers and people of color regardless of their immigration status. The plaintiffs are represented by attorneys at the ACLU Foundations of Northern California, Southern California, and San Diego & Imperial Counties,?and Keker, Van Nest & Peters LLP. For over 100 years, the ACLU SoCal has been a leading champion of civil liberties and civil rights in California. Its next executive director will lead one of the most influential and impactful organizations in the nation’s most diverse and populous state. This is a hybrid position based in Los Angeles that is expected to start in late May or early June 2025.
