The American Cinematheque is a non-profit organization whose mission is to celebrate the experience of cinema as a moving art form. We believe that film is a communal experience with the power to entertain, enlighten and inspire. We build a diverse and engaged film community through immersive film curation, conversation, and presentation. We bridge the filmmaker to the audience and film history to its future. We're thrilled to announce the launch of THIS IS NOT A FICTION, a major documentary film festival in L.A., running from April 10-18! Featuring a robust lineup across three venues with 42 films and 11 shorts and more than 20 filmmakers attending for Q&As, co-founders Chris LeMaire, Senior Film Programmer, and Cindy Flores, Film Programmer, say, "The festival is a celebration of non-fiction as a form of filmmaking and its profound impact on our lives, from its influence in art and entertainment to its power in education, political advocacy and social discourse.” Tickets will go on sale Thu.
