The ABF Welcomes John M. Eason as the 2024-25 William H. Neukom Fellows Research Chair in Diversity and Law. “I am incredibly excited to be a Neukom Chair at the ABF for 2024-25,” said Eason. “I'm looking forward to engaging with and learning from ABF scholars whose work spans the criminal legal system.”

The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation (ABF) have selected their new Fellows Officers for the 2023-24 fiscal year. Frank X. Neuner, Jr. of NeunerPate has been nominated to serve as Chair of the Fellows for the next fiscal year. Mario L. Barnes, University of California, Irvine Chancellor’s Professor of Law, has been nominated to serve as the Secretary of the Fellows.??

The ABF is excited to announce its 2024-25 Visiting Scholars cohort to our research community! Aaron Z. Pitluck is writing an interdisciplinary book describing how investment bankers, Shariah scholars, and the state are co-producing Islamic banking and finance in Malaysia. Michelle Brown is working on her book,?Streaming Justice: Movements, Media, and the Problem of Crime, which argues that the problem of crime and the crisis of the criminal legal system are inseparable from a media universe with intensified and conflicting claims for narrative control.
