Gruyère cheese group lost trademark case in the U.S. (2022). A court in the United States has ruled that cheese does not have to come from the Gruyère region of Switzerland to be sold under this name. https://lnkd.in/e7WtxMVs

Palomino & Vergara U.S. print advertisement from 1958. Palomino & Vergara was a traditional bodega in Jerez, popular in Spain and beyond between the 1930s and the 1960s. In 1963, Palomino & Vergara became part of the Rumasa Group, a vast Spanish business conglomerate that included many sherry producers. The Spanish government dismantled Rumasa in 1983 due to alleged financial irregularities. Palomino & Vergara’s assets were sold to Harvey's Bristol in 1985.

Wine Self-Sufficiency in Selected Countries, Avg 2018-2022; Chile's wine production accounts to 629% of its wine consumption. Wine production in the UK accounts for only 1% of domestic consumption. The world as a whole produces more wine than it consumes.
