Shawn has been a key part of AAC for over three years, previously serving as Talent Acquisition Manager. ?? Did you know that sleep and mental health are deeply interconnected? ?? Our Chief Medical Officer, Lawrence Weinstein, was recently featured in an article in Behavioral Health Business. Dr. Weinstein discussed how crucial it is for behavioral health treatment providers to support patients struggling with sleep issues. He highlighted that most patients with addiction and mental health disorders also suffer from some form of sleep disorder. The article underscores the importance of treating these sleep issues as a pathway to full recovery. Dr. Weinstein emphasizes that these disorders are often successfully treated with non-pharmacological approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I).Ignoring sleep issues can leave patients without the support they need. This insight raises an essential question for all of us in the behavioral health field: Are we doing enough to address sleep disorders in our treatment plans?
