Clean energy tax credits play a crucial role in keeping energy affordable for American communities, and a growing number of U.S. Congress members are showing their support. In a joint letter, 21 House Republicans emphasized the importance of #CleanEnergy tax credits and policies that keep energy costs low, create good-paying jobs, and advance U.S. energy goals. These incentives are vital to fostering energy efficiency, expansion, and innovation across America. With clean energy projects underway, eliminating these tax credits could have immediate negative effects on energy production and utility costs – jeopardizing the United States’ role as an energy leader on the global stage. For decades, farmers have depended on a basic but vital process: they make investments on their farms that help keep the land resilient against extreme weather, keep the soil healthy, and keep U.S. agriculture globally competitive. Then they are reimbursed by a number of federal grants. But now, many of those grants are frozen, leaving farmers unsure if they’ll be reimbursed. According to Kevin Burres, a farmer with 1,700 acres in Wright County, Iowa, “everything in rural America gets put on hold or slow-mode because we don’t account for much population out here, and that’s kind of disappointing because we are supposed to feed the world.” These programs not only provide financial stability but also support long-term growth in agriculture. More than 40 elected officials across Colorado are calling for stronger landfill methane regulations to help reduce global emissions in a letter to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment. Tackling landfill methane — the third-largest source of methane emissions in Colorado — means cleaner air and a healthier future for Americans. Without action, local governments and their communities will continue to face the escalating impacts of rising temperatures and worsening air pollution. In the words of Colorado State Senator Cathy Kipp, “Stronger rules will mean cleaner air, healthier communities, and real progress on #ClimateAction.” Local officials aren’t the only ones in support of strengthened rules when it comes to landfill methane emissions. #AmericaIsAllIn member Arapahoe Basin Ski Area also knows that stronger landfill methane regulations mean a snowier, healthier future for Coloradans. ??Learn more about importance of stronger landfill methane regulations: https://lnkd.in/ekdNFVhF? ??Read the group statement: https://lnkd.in/eZC9VB4j
