Today’s #PAProud Servicemember Spotlight features Private Prince Perkins of #SusquehannaCounty, who served with the Continental Army, 2nd Connecticut Regiment during the American Revolutionary War, 1777-1781. Thank you for your service. ???? Private Perkins joined as a patriot fighting for freedom and equality, despite being born into enslavement. He was one of the first settlers in Susquehanna Co. in 1793, via a land grant recognizing his service. He is buried in the Dennis-Perkins African American Family Cemetery in Brooklyn Township. Thank you to Dave Palmer for nominating Private Prince Perkins to be featured! ??
