This #September11 Chair Rosie Rios joined 9/11 Day and 6,000 volunteers at the Intrepid Museum to pack 2 million meals for people experiencing food insecurity in the NYC area. The event was part of the preview of #AmericaGives, a nationwide effort designed to build on America’s legacy of service. Founding Partners Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, Blue Star Families, Points of Light, U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Habitat for Humanity International, and Keep America Beautiful?, joined in on the day’s service activities, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and resilience that emerged in the aftermath of 9/11 when Americans came together to help one another. It was a privilege to serve today with friends and colleagues at America250 AmeriCorps , Peace Corps , Points of Light , Habitat for Humanity International and the amazing organizing team of 9/11 Day. Together we make change happen in each other and in our country. #DoBeautifulThings

It’s meaningful to be back in NYC on 9/11, a city where I lived when everything changed. My memories of being here that day are a powerful reminder of the resilience and unity that define this city and our nation. Today, I was honored to serve with so many incredible people and organizations at the 9/11 Day and AmeriCorps meal-packing event. This event also launches #AmericaGives with America250 aiming to reignite a culture of service and make 2026 the largest year of service in our history. I’m proud to represent Points of Light and to stand alongside organizations like Peace Corps, Blue Star Families and Keep America Beautiful?, all dedicated to strengthening civic engagement and volunteerism.

On #September11, we pause, reflect, and remember all those we lost on that horrific day 23 years ago. We honor the first responders and volunteers who placed themselves in harm's way to protect others. We lift up our family and friends who still grieve. And we put our differences aside, come together as Americans, and pledge to #NeverForget.
