We were excited to sponsor and attend the 18th Annual West Point Society of DC Leadership and Ethics Conference held recently at George Mason University in Arlington. The event brought together over 200 high school juniors and 50 faculty members from schools across Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. and focused on "Leading an Honorable Life" featuring keynote speakers including General (Ret) Vincent K. Brooks, US Army. Over 30 students were selected to compete for $10,000 in scholarships based on ethical decision-making. These scholarships will be announced and awarded at their respective schools at the end of the school year. Ameresco is proud to support and empower the next generation of leaders and educators. #WestPoint #USArmy #ethics #leadership

Over 60 GW of utility-scale generation capacity will come online in the United States during 2025. And 81% of that new capacity will be solar and battery storage, according to a recent report from the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Over the past few years, grid resiliency has become a top priority for utility providers across the country as unprecedented weather events and skyrocketing demand put increasing strain on an aging power grid. Developing reliable and renewable energy sources to supplement existing generation allows utilities to confidently assure their customers that they can provide the energy they need. We work with utility providers to develop sustainable energy solutions that diversify their energy supply. Learn more using the link in the comments about these projects and how we help our utility partners plan for the future of energy. https://hubs.ly/Q03cHHw50 #energyresilience #utilities #energysecurity #BESS #solar

Helping to build the energy workforce of the future! Students from Tri County Career Center in Ohio had the opportunity to work alongside solar installers from CommonWealth Solar, LLC on their school's new solar PV system. The system is designed to provide up to 20% of the annual energy needs for the two Tri-County Career Center buildings, while also reducing approximately 161 tons of CO2 emissions annually. As part of Ameresco's joint venture with Hannah Solar Government Services LLC, we are proud to announce the completion of the $10.9 million water resiliency Microgrid Project at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in New Mexico. This innovative microgrid, featuring solar panels, a natural gas generator, and a lithium-ion battery system, ensures continuous water supply during power outages by providing backup power to four groundwater wells. This allows WSMR to continue critical missions without disrupting potable water service to the main post. It also supports the Army-wide goal of sustaining water and power on installations for up to two weeks without relying on civilian utilities. From waste to watts, landfills are becoming energy hubs. New reports show major waste companies are scaling up RNG projects, with investments continuing despite shifting renewable energy policies. Companies like Republic Services are bringing more landfill-gas-to-RNG facilities online, while other organizations are expanding their U.S. presence to capture more methane and turn it into usable energy. This growth not only points to better waste management, but it also drives energy resilience and creates new revenue streams for communities. RNG projects can transform landfills into clean energy assets, helping businesses and municipalities reduce emissions while meeting energy demands. As RNG gains traction across industries, its potential to reshape waste, energy, and sustainability is only just beginning. Emma Penrod at Utility Dive breaks down how major players are driving this shift. #RNG #EnergySolutions #WasteToEnergy #EnergyResilience #Energy https://hubs.ly/Q03blPFn0
