"Strength, resilience, and transformation" were at the heart of the Women’s Summit 2025—and Amenity Aid was honored to be part of it! As Rhode Island’s first and only hygiene bank, we were proud to connect with female professionals from across the state (& country!), raising awareness about hygiene insecurity and the critical role it plays in health, wellness, and dignity. It was inspiring to engage in conversations about how access to basic hygiene products impacts individuals and communities—and how together, we can create change. Thank you to Bryant University for hosting such an empowering event! ?? #WomensSummit2025 #EndHygieneInsecurity #AmenityAid
关于我们
Amenity Aid is Rhode Island’s only hygiene bank, providing essential hygiene products to those in need through our partnerships with 10 social service agencies around the state. We operate like a food bank, but for hygiene products that food banks typically don’t provide. An estimated 1 in 3 Rhode Island families struggle to afford hygiene products, and 2 in 5 menstruators struggle to purchase period products. There are no government assistance programs (SNAP, WIC, etc.) that address this widespread hygiene insecurity, and most social service agencies lack the funding and capacity to provide these products. We exist solely to provide desperately needed hygiene products in full and travel sizes to vulnerable populations throughout Rhode Island. This includes individuals of all ages who are unemployed, underemployed, unhoused, at-risk veterans, low-income, immigrants, refugees, and victims of violence and abuse via a network of partner agencies. Amenity Aid supplies products to partner social service agencies that serve these populations; those agencies, in turn, provide products directly to individuals in need.

?? Advocating for Stronger Nonprofits! ?? Yesterday, Amenity Aid joined Nancy Northrop Wolanski from the Alliance for Nonprofit Impact at United Way of Rhode Island and Kelly Nevins, CEO of the Women's Fund of Rhode Island to testify before the House Corporations Committee in support of the Audit Threshold Bill, sponsored by Rep. Justine Caldwell (D). Current regulations require nonprofits with revenue over $500K to undergo costly audits ranging from $10K-$30K. We are advocating for RI to modernize this outdated law by raising the audit threshold to $1M. This will ensure small nonprofits can continue their vital work while maintaining responsible financial oversight. We’re proud to stand alongside fellow nonprofit leaders in this effort to strengthen Rhode Island’s nonprofit sector and support organizations that make a difference every day! ?? #NonprofitAdvocacy #AmenityAid #StrongerNonprofits #RhodeIsland

The most recent #RILifeIndex surveys show that many Rhode Islanders face significant barriers when accessing safe, affordable housing. We also know that anyone facing food insecurity (1 in 3) also faces hygiene insecurity, and our friends at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island know it, too. That’s why we’re so incredibly proud to be one of their 2025 BlueAngel Community Health Grant recipients - along with our partner agency House of Hope Community Development Corporation. This additional funding will support our work with House of Hope to provide essential hygiene products to those in need. We’re grateful to be a part of the #BCBSRICommunity!

Last week, our team attended the grand opening of ECHO Village - the latest project of our community partner House of Hope Community Development Corporation. The new Pallet units will provide our Rhody neighbors in need with shelter, safety, and dignity. We are grateful for social service agencies like House of Hope CDC and proud to supply ECHO Village with hygiene necessities! ?? ????
