The Vision of Amelia’s Closet Amelia’s Closet is a faith-based 501(c)3 organization that helps reduce poverty in our communities by preparing women for sustainable employment. The idea for Amelia’s Closet began developing years ago. As formerly incarcerated women would visit Jody’s church, she often wished they had a clothing closet to assist them in making a fresh start. Since she resigned from her full-time job, God has continually confirmed that she was supposed to help fill this need. Jody researched names for “hope” and found “Amelia” means hope, and industrious, striving, and admiring – the type of women we desire to help (and happens to be her first granddaughter’s name). This God-sized dream is now her passion. We, at Amelia’s Closet, want to prepare women for meaningful, sustainable employment in order to make a difference in their families’ lives and reduce the risk of poverty in our communities. We are also the main business belonging to our social enterprises;

But the plan doesn't work out well. You are now LIVING IN A BARN, an actual BARN with your 4 children! You pay the landowner to use his kitchen and shower. You have lost your confidence! You have no professional clothing nor any place to store it. ???? ???????????? ?????? ???????? ?????????? (and provided a HUGE suitcase for her to store her new clothing.) We are serving more clients than ever with serious housing insecurity issues! What we do for these clients and for our community truly makes a difference! These ladies need us and we need you! Your belongings are stolen and now you are broke and living in your car, struggling to find a safe place to park to sleep, and needing access to a safe bathroom overnight? All the while trying to maintain a positive attitude & now needing clothing to present yourself in a professional manner to interview for jobs? ???? ???????????? ?????? ???????? ??????????! She now has a job? And we provided scrubs for her to work in, but $16 an hour won't go far enough to cover her needs, with our cost of living here. #givehope What we do for these clients and for our community truly makes a difference!
