The second event of the day was a thought-provoking panel discussion hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, focusing on the topic: Sports Arbitration: Resolving Disputes off the Field. The panel featured arbitrators Fisnik Salihu from RPHS Law, Korab R. Sejdiu, Esq. from Sejdiu & Qerkini LLC, and Metin Qestaj, Legal Specialist at the Kosovo Olympic Committee. This event served as a platform to discuss the critical steps needed to strengthen sports arbitration, with panelists highlighting the importance of the Sports Arbitration Council in resolving disputes between athletes, clubs, and federations. The panelists expressed their shared commitment to advancing the role of sports arbitration as a key component of a fair and efficient sports ecosystem in Kosovo.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo, in partnership with SCAAK ShK?AK, organized its annual conference focused on strengthening the connection between the private sector and accounting and auditing professionals. The opening speech by Adrian Alo, Chairman of the Board of the Association, emphasized that successful businesses today also incorporate social and environmental aspects. Meanwhile, Arian Zeka, Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce, highlighted that accounting professionals are now trusted advisors, guiding businesses through strategic decisions, risk management, and growth opportunities. Other keynote speeches further explored the role of accountants and auditors in a dynamic business environment. AmCham hosted the Annual Conference on Commercial Justice, which highlighted the important partnership between justice and business. The keynote speech by the Deputy Minister of Justice, Blerim Sallahu, emphasized the long-standing challenges businesses face within the judicial system, highlighting the crucial role of the Commercial Court in enhancing efficiency and reliability. The first panel, led by Blerina Ramaj, included experts Mahir Tutuli, Florin Lata, Vjosa Kika, and Atdhe Lila, who examined imbalances in commercial court practices, emphasizing the need for strong legal regulations to stimulate investment. The panel concluded that a stronger legal framework is essential for creating a favorable environment for business growth. In the Fireside Chat discussion moderated by Njom?za Zejnullahu on “Dispute Resolution: Arbitration and the Commercial Court,” Verona Dibra highlighted the potential of the new Commercial Court to provide excellent services. The need for a consolidated arbitration system was emphasized, with calls for closer collaboration between courts and arbitration to strengthen confidence in the judicial system.
