We’re highlighting Aedes aegypti this month as many of us traveled to Puerto Rico for the AMCA annual meeting, where its prevalent, as well as many states across the U.S. and around the world. It is a highly invasive mosquito that can carry dengue, chikungunya, Zika, and yellow fever viruses. It can be recognized by its black and white stripes and a lyre-shaped marking on its thorax.
