AmaTerra, ERG Texas Services is a small, woman-owned, service-disabled-veteran-owned (SDV), and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) providing NEPA, natural resource and cultural resource consulting services in the Lone Star State. AmaTerra is a division of Environmental Research Group (ERG) which operates throughout the United States for compliance, restoration, sustainability and conservation. Our biological services include wetland delineations, threatened and endangered species studies, and preparation of Environmental Assessments (EA), Categorical Exclusions, and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. Cultural resource services include historical research, historical building surveys, historic cemetery services, and archaeological surveys, testing, and excavations. Our projects include roads, pipelines, transmission lines, reservoirs, oil & gas exploration, water treatment facilities, parks, airports, and housing and urban developments. We have received awards of excellence from Federal and state agencies and are proud of our reputation for outstanding customer service. ERG is so excited that it's Bat Week! We love bats! Here at ERG, we challenge the bat skeptics out there to look into the face of this juvenile eastern red bat and suggest that he and other bats don't deserve a little love. Here are some fun facts about our furry friends: 1. Did you know bats save us billions of dollars a year in pest control??In the U.S., where nearly all bat species are insectivorous, estimates of their economic value range from 4 billion to over 20 billion dollars per year, 2. They are incredible acro-bats!?Bats are in the order Chiroptera, which means "hand-wing." It is so named because a bat wing is essentially a webbed arm and hand like humans have, but with much longer fingers. This allows them to perform aerial stunts that would be impossible for birds!
