We’ve hit the midpoint of the 2024-25 year at AMA PDX — the essential community for local marketers — and I couldn’t be more proud of what our nonprofit has accomplished together so far. It’s been an honor co-leading as co-president with Kate Ludgate, and I want to pause, reflect and take a moment to celebrate our wins and most importantly, the incredible people behind them:
?? Keeping it all together — From finance to operations, thank you Kate, Michael Goswick, Jaycie Murata and Kelsey Smith, EA for keeping our organization running.
?? Expanding our reach – I’ve had the honor to meet dozens of professionals and connect with others at countless events, spreading the word about AMA PDX’s impact.
?? Championing DEIA – We launched Cup of Equity to create a safe space for marketers to discuss DEIA, expanded our focus to include accessibility, and reaffirmed our chapter’s commitment to DEIA more than ever. Huge thanks to Catherine Van and newest board member, Jordyn Vierra.
?? Amplifying our voice – Our storytelling efforts drove a 550% YoY increase in web traffic and 40% email open rates while staying innovative on social media. Shoutout to Jessica R., Ken Schwartz, Elise Leritz-Higgins, MBA, Lauren Danielsen and Jacob Ashley.
?? Growing our membership – We’ve increased membership by nearly 10% and launched a spotlight series to showcase our amazing community. Kudos to John Dolan and Leslie Kruempel.
???? Giving back – Dozens of talented volunteers are underway to provide pro bono marketing support to four incredible nonprofits, Lloyd EcoDistrict, Playworks, Wonderfolk and Portland Fruit Tree Project. Thank you, Corinne Gould, Ines Giovannini and Alexandra Hagel.
?? Building community – Our marketing meetups have brought people together in BIPOC-, LGBTQ+-, and women-owned small businesses across town. Appreciate you, Courtney Meidenbauer, MBA RD.
As we continue bouncing back from the pandemic’s challenges, I’m excited for what’s ahead. Special thanks to our advisor Ashlan Glazier-Anderson, MS, CDMP, PCM, AMA members, partners, volunteers, and supporters for being with us every step of the way.
