Wendy Norcross and her husband Frank Wattunen of Ely, Minnesota are gearing up to complete their incredible goal of paddling their purple canoe in all 50 states to fight dementia and support the Alzheimer's Association? ????♀? Wendy was inspired to take action to support our programs and research to #ENDALZ after losing both her parents to dementia. Since June of 2021, she and Frank have taken their purple canoe to 49 states, making new friends, breaking the stigma of talking about dementia and raising awareness. Soon, they are heading to Hawaii for their 50th paddle! Read more about their inspiring story at https://lnkd.in/gaytT4dm. Thank you Wendy and Frank!

关于我们
The Alzheimer’s Association is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer care, support and research. Our Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter was one of seven founding chapters of the National Alzheimer's Association, headquartered in Chicago. It was started by family caregivers who came together around a common need of getting support and help for their loved ones with dementia. Since 1979, our donor-supported, nonprofit Alzheimer’s Association has provided reliable information and care consultation; created supportive services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes. Our Mission To eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health. Our Vision A world without Alzheimer's disease.?

A special thanks to Julie Donahue, who shared her story about advocating for her husband Tim, chief bill authors Sen. Boldon and Rep. Reyer, and Sen. Abeler who spoke at the news conference.
