That's what our neural interfaces are making possible - and it's not just an idea, it's already starting to happen. Our team is building AI-powered neural interfaces to help stroke survivors move their fingers again. It transforms muscle signals into intended motions in VR, creating a feedback loop that rewires the brain's neural pathways. We've started pilot testing with stroke survivors, and the early results are impressive. After just eight hours of training, users are reporting significant improvements: "I'm starting to feel muscles in my hand that I haven't felt since before the stroke." - Ani "Imagining hand movements is getting easier now." - Valery Now, we're seeking $450K in pre-seed funding (1) to build an EMG armband, (2) to conduct full clinical trials, and (3) to secure commercial partnerships with rehab centers in the US. Our mission extends beyond stroke recovery. We aim to help all those who've lost limb function through future R&D, ensuring everyone can move freely. Including people with amputations. Over the past five weeks, teams from all over the world have impressed us with their creativity and hard work in developing machine learning models for robotic prosthetics. ?? Challenge Highlights: Participants tackled the tough task of analyzing electromyography (EMG) data to predict hand poses based on muscle activation. The solutions presented were fantastic and showed a lot of dedication and innovation. ?? Muscle-To-Motion Competition 2024 You've got 21 days to cook up the world's best prosthetic control system. This is the BCI competition, organized by ALVI Labs and BCI Initiative. Task: Predict finger movements from the muscle activation(EMG). Deadline: August 5, 2024 Dataset: We've recorded 10+ hours of data from both healthy and amputee subjects. We asked people to make different finger movements (simple moves, gestures, static moves). We recorded muscle activity using Myo Thalmic Armband ( 8 electrodes, 200Hz). Plus, we captured hand positions with 20 DoF at 25 Hz. This isn't just classification - it's a full regression challenge. We'll test your model on a real amputee. Your code could directly impact someone's life. Time to create some next-level shit and maybe, just maybe, revolutionize prosthetics.
