The OCT scan below reveals a characteristic indicator of diabetic retinopathy (DR): a microaneurysm. ?? See how AI detects DR on real scans in our Demo: https://demo.altris.ai/ Microaneurysms appear as small, distinct, oval-shaped, hyperreflective, walled structures. This structural weakness in the vessel wall causes fluid leakage, resulting in edema.

November is a Diabetes and Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month. This month is a critical reminder of the alarming increase in the number of people with diabetes. Eye care professionals are on the front lines in addressing a leading cause of blindness stemming from a condition strongly connected to diabetes — Diabetic Retinopathy (DR). ? See how AI detects DR on OCT scans in our Demo: https://demo.altris.ai/ One reason DR causes such high rates of blindness lies in its silent progression, with clinically visible changes appearing too late. Regular OCT exams, especially for patients with diabetes, help detect the early stages of DR and allow for safer management. ? AI for OCT not only assists in identifying the earliest and most subtle signs of DR but is also a perfect tool for precisely tracking pathological changes and treatment results over time.

The American Academy of Ophthalmology has designated November as Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month. It's a great reminder that Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is the leading cause of blindness in working-age adults. A recent meta-analysis estimated that the current global prevalence of DR is about 103 million people, which is projected to rise further to 161 million by 2045. The DR pandemic is a pressing global problem that demands the attention of eye care professionals worldwide. Altris AI is committed to supporting eye care professionals in the fight against DR. Our AI-powered OCT analysis platform can detect DR earlier and more efficiently. The video below demonstrates how the platform detects the slightest changes on a scan, measures them quantitatively, and is a perfect tool for tracking treatment/pathology progression. By providing eye care professionals with the most advanced instruments, Altris AI empowers them to deliver the best care to their patients. Early detection and patient education offer a chance to preserve vision and quality of life.
