We were thrilled to host over 30 bright and curious 8th graders from St. Matthew's Parish School, Pacific Palisades as part of their DEEP (Developing Engineering Excellence Program) field trip! These young innovators had the chance to get up close and personal with kelp collected from the Palisades—a place deeply impacted by the recent wildfires. Through the DEEP program, these students apply their skills in math, science, and technology to tackle real-world challenges, building everything from underwater robots to echolocation devices. During their visit, they explored vital topics like ocean acidification and the resilience of aquatic ecosystems. A huge shoutout to these incredible students for their resilience and curiosity, especially after facing the challenges brought on by the recent wildfires. Their dedication to learning and innovation, even in the face of adversity, is truly inspiring. We’d also like to extend a special THANK YOU to Team Honda Cares and the Dwight Stuart Youth Foundation, for making field trips like this possible.
