The ALS community has secured a significant win with $40 million in funding for the Department of Defense’s ALS Research Program (ALSRP) for fiscal year 2025. This is especially critical as veterans are twice as likely to develop ALS as civilians. At a time when other research programs were defunded entirely, this funding is a huge step forward in the fight against ALS. But the work doesn’t stop here. #ALSUnitedCT, along with 29 other neurodegenerative disease organizations, has submitted our FY26 funding requests to House and Senate Appropriations Committee members, urging continued support for #ALS programs. Our FY26 funding requests include: ? Increase ALS CDMRP funding to $80M ? Fully fund the ACT for ALS at $100M ? Increase NIH ALS research funding to $180M ?
