    Call for Abstract Submission 2025 Paper Development Workshop International Section of the Academy of legal Studies in Business (ALSB) The International Section of the ALSB invites abstract submissions to the 2025 International Law Paper Development Workshop to be held virtually in April 2025. The goal of the workshop is to stimulate high quality research and publication in our discipline and to help international law scholars develop their scholarly articles and research-in-progress by providing a unique opportunity for in-depth review and feedback. Scholars may apply to participate in the workshop by submitting 300-500 words abstract together with a current curriculum vita via email (subject: 2025 International Section Paper Development Workshop) to [email protected] no later than?February 20, 2025. Abstracts should outline the research including its thesis, contribution, and approach. Submissions will be evaluated on the basis of contribution to the relevant literature and suitability for future publication. Based on peer review of the submitted abstracts, the ALSB International Section Board will select up to 4 abstracts for presentation at the workshop. Scholars will be notified of their selection no later than?February 20, 2025.?Invited scholars commit to present their papers for extended discussion during the workshop on Friday?April 4, 2025. Complete papers?for selected abstracts must be submitted by?March 15, 2025. While early-stage papers are welcome, they should be in polished draft form so that it can benefit from comment and discussion. The authors of selected papers are expected to read and discuss each other’s’ papers during the workshop. In case papers have already been accepted for publication, they must still be in the revision/editing stage. Co-authored papers may be submitted. Research Paper Themes The paper should be a major piece of legal research intended for publication in a highly ranked law review/journal. We welcome all international law related topics.   • Joan Gabel (pictured right),?Chancellor of the University of Pittsburgh,?was named chair of the Fulbright Scholar Advisory Board, where she will guide the program's administration in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Gabel, who was a Fulbright scholar in India in 2018, also serves on the Association of American Universities Board of Directors, helping shape policy for this association of leading research universities. Adding to these accomplishments, she has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, joining a distinguished membership that includes many Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winners. Chancellor Gabel received the ALSB Distinguished Career Faculty Award at the Centennial Conference in Washington, DC.
