On November 8-10, the Alpha Sigma Tau National Council visited Minneapolis, Minnesota, where we’ll host our 46th National Convention in June 2026. While visiting, the National Council:? —heard from Abigail Shilling, Communications Director of Land O’Lakes, about corporate communication models and building strategies? —worked together to advance the strategic direction of the Sorority and its initiatives, both current and new —hosted a well-attended reception for area-alumnae? —attended a philanthropy brunch hosted by our Epsilon Xi Chapter at Gustavus Adolphus College, where the chapter raised over $2,000 for their local philanthropy partner, CADA, which helps domestic violence survivors? —visited Dress for Success Twin Cities, where they supported our National Service Partner by sorting clothing donations, packing client shipments, and helping to organize the warehouse #alphasigmatau #dressforsuccess #gustavusadolphus #womenswellness #nationalservicepartner #professionaldevelopment #sorority

Announcing the Andrea Merrick Dranberg Scholarship Fund As we celebrate our donors this week during Donor Love Week, we recognize both Sisters and friends who support Alpha Sigma Tau and her members, including Mr. and Mrs. Bill and Cheryl Merrick. In the fall of 2023, the Merricks established the Andrea Merrick Dranberg Scholarship in memory of their daughter Andrea Merrick Dranberg (Beta Xi 1998/Michigan Tech). As Andrea was an engineer, her scholarship fund is available to a Beta Xi collegian studying engineering at Michigan Technological University, with special preference given to first-generation college students. The Alpha Sigma Tau Foundation dreams of a world where every Alpha Sigma Tau member can pursue her college education free of debt and financial burden. The Merricks’ generous gift – and the subsequent gifts from Beta Xi Sisters, friends, and family to Andrea’s scholarship fund – helps Alpha Sigma Tau get one step closer to making this dream a reality.

This week is Donor Love Week—a time to celebrate all our generous Sisters and friends who support the AΣΤ Foundation! The programs that Alpha Sigma Tau offers to members to equip them for after college are only possible thanks to our donors. From scholarships that help our members achieve their dreams to educational programs that teach them skills they can only learn outside of the classroom—AΣΤ donors are changing the lives of thousands of women every single day. One of these women is Michaela Wilcox (Delta Theta 2022/Moravian). Passionate about giving back, Michaela serves her chapter as Director of Philanthropy and volunteers with the AΣΤ Foundation as an 1899 Society Ambassador. Last year, Michaela was awarded the Ricki Bargman Trosen Scholarship to support her studies in English and early childhood education. Today, Michaela thanks AΣΤ Foundation donors for supporting her and other scholarship recipients!
