I had the amazing opportunity to assist the ALPFA Latino Student Symposium organized by ALPFA Phoenix and ALPFA at ASU. I wanted to share what I learned: The "Navigating the corporate latter" panel, featuring Joshua Carmona, MSM, CPCU, ASLI, AU-M, AINS, AIDA, and Patricia Villagomez was particularly impactful. Joshua's story reinforced that your starting position doesn't limit your potential, setting clear personal goals, especially early on, is crucial for career development. In the corporate world, doing what's expected keeps you afloat, but it's the extra mile that propels you to new heights. As Patricia said during the panel, "Don't dress for what you have, dress for what you want to become". Moreover, I learned about the companies participating in the event and had insightful conversations with some recruiters such as Orlando Menjivar from Vanguard, to whom I discussed the challenges of transitioning to third-party cloud-based internal tools. Also, Austin Turner from Nationwide shared his experience working at the state-of-the-art offices in the North Scottsdale area. I look forward to participating in more transformative events like this, continuing to learn and connect with inspiring Latino professionals in the corporate world. #ALPFA #CareerDevelopment #LatinoLeadership #ProfessionalGrowth #NetworkingEvents #ALPFAASU
