We're looking for a fractional/part time contract power electronics electrical engineer to support our mobile robot requirements within the construction industry. Must be physically located in Washington State. Must be a high performer independently and with a team Must have a customer first approach 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering 10+ years in power electronics 5+ years in motor drives and DC power distribution Excellent hands-on skill bringing a design from concept through mass manufacturing as the primary contributor Excellent knowledge of functional safety system design Excellent simulation knowledge of analog and mixed signal systems Preference to those who want to convert full time later this year Excellent working knowledge of Altium designer Experience shipping products through FCC, UL and industrial safety certification processes Negotiable rate, somewhere in the realm of 100-125$/hr, but depends on qualifications. We're pivoting to construction automation! The construction industry accounts for ~4 percent of the US total GDP. Interestingly, construction productivity improvements have been relatively flat over the last 100 years. When comparing the construction industry to other industries that have seen productivity improvements, it's clear a differentiator is the lack of automation within construction. We believe robots should work with trades people, not replace them. Let's bring smart tools to trades people and help them perform their jobs safer and more efficiently. We're currently working on developing a product to service the electrician trade, ready for pilots this summer. We're looking for local (WA State) companies and electricians who are interested in iterative pilots and feedback sessions to help us tune the product and features.
