Following the success of the first Ally Charlotte Cricket League (ACCL), our Asian-Middle Eastern Employee Resource Group was thrilled to host its second annual event! ?? Employees gathered for an afternoon of high-stakes cricket action, networking, and team building! Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a memorable one. We look forward to seeing which team brings home the trophy next year!

Congratulations to the students from Philander Smith University, Southern University System, Hampton University and Spelman College for taking top honors at the sixth annual Ally Moguls in the Making entrepreneurial pitch competition! ?? Hosted in collaboration with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, this year's event brought together 50 talented students from HBCUs to develop innovative solutions for economic mobility challenges in Detroit. Over five days, the students engaged in workshops, fireside chats, and mentorship sessions, culminating in impactful business plan presentations. The top teams received scholarships, paid internship offers at Ally, and other educational support. Since its inception, Moguls in the Making has seen over 300 participants, with Ally employing 46 former Moguls as interns and hiring 15 as full-time employees. Michael spoke to Symone Graham about his time at Ally so far and what he sees for our future. “I’ve gotten to know the organization, the people, the talent, the process and the technology reasonably well. I have to keep on learning and understanding, and my job is to support the rest of the organization… showing up every single day in a way that makes the organization stronger."

Ally's Moguls in the Making pitch competition has kicked off for its 6th year! ?? The participating students from 10 HBCUs will engage in learning and creative problem-solving to develop innovative solutions for economic mobility, all while being guided by mentors and inspired by impactful speakers. They've already gotten to hear from Ally CEO Michael Rhodes and CMO Andrea Brimmer, Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan and Michigan State Representative Joe Tate about the power of collaboration and the importance of challenging yourself. Here's to a weekend of growth, creativity, and groundbreaking ideas!

We recently hosted a live discussion with Charlotte Hornets legend Muggsy Bogues, moderated by Natalie Brown. Our employees had the opportunity to ask questions and get a photo and autograph with Muggsy. Plus, they had the chance to win tickets to the Hornets home opener game to help kick off the NBA season! A huge thank you to Muggsy for making this event unforgettable and inspiring us to empower our community and embrace adversity. ????

At Ally, we are deeply committed to supporting our colleagues and communities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida as they deal with the catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Helene. We support our teammates through the Ally Employee Relief Fund and have also pledged $100,000 to aid the hardest-hit areas, including a donation to the American Red Cross for immediate relief efforts and longer-term donations to several community organizations in those states that are dedicated to rebuilding these communities.

We recently hosted a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration that infused cultural flavor at the Spirit of Detroit Plaza. Hundreds of attendees explored art from Metro Detroit’s Latino community, danced to Latin American music and showcased their soccer skills at the Detroit City FC’s inflatable kick game. It was a cultural extravaganza to remember!
