Most of our followers do not know what work Ally Rocks 405 does behind the scenes. We don't typically advertise the countless speaking engagements Ally's Mom does throughout Texas and Oklahoma. From Victim Impact Panels to Police Academies, she works tirelessly to educate the world about the consequences of drinking and driving. This year, she has worked closely with experts in law enforcement, mental health, and prosecution to develop a program for Police Academies and existing law enforcement to educate on the importance of DUI enforcement, crash scene investigation and the resulting trauma effects from witnessing these crashes. Danette has taken her course across Oklahoma and is now branching out into Texas. In order to keep these programs growing and enrich the impact it has on officers, we need funds. Walk Like MADD North Texas brought together hundreds of Law Enforcement Officers, Survivors, Victims and Advocates to raise awareness against Drunk Driving and remember the countless Victims lost to Drunk Driving. I was honored to be a speaker at this event. Ally Rocks 405 was asked to participate by helping others paint rocks and inviting them to join our fight. As we continue to partner with Police Departments across our great state, we are proud to see the passion igniting in each Officer's eyes to end DUI and fight to save lives. We are so incredibly grateful to each and every Agency in our state who have welcomed and trusted us to provide a perspective of Impaired Driving that our Officers otherwise would not see. Ally Rocks 405 had the opportunity last week to participate in SFST Trainings for the OCPD Academy Recruits. Our Executive Director taught our course DUI/DWI: A Victim's Perspective to all 24 recruits going through DUI from an offender's and Victim's perspective, BAC and our bodies, National and State Specific Statistics, Fatal DUI Crash Scene Investigation and the resulting PTSD/CPTSD in victims and First Responders. Our 10 volunteers then were put through multiple SFSTs by the officers in training. This was truly such an amazing educational opportunity for our volunteers (all Ally's friends) and the officers. As we gathered as a team that evening, the education continued. Society does not understand what happens in our bodies when we drink. Each volunteer was shocked to discover how little it takes to cause Impairment and just how long it took to get back to being a "safe driver". Food did not help sober them, only time. Did you know impairment begins at .02 NOT .08? It's through education we can make a difference and Team Ally is armed and ready to share our knowledge everywhere we go. *Every volunteer who had even one sip of alcohol, did not drive until their BACs were 0.0. Designated Drivers were present and transported each "drinker"

Allyson Renee Goad November 7th, 1998 - September 11th, 2021 Saturday, September 11th, 2021, Trooper Garrick Polyard received a call regarding a head-on collision 2 miles north of Jacksonville, TX, near Mt Selman. As he raced south, he had no idea what he would encounter. The scene was a battlefield of debris. Two drivers were involved. One lay in the middle of the road, bleeding. The other was receiving CPR. The force and cause of the crash were obvious. A drunk driver had crossed all the lanes of HWY 69 and hit another vehicle head on. The 22 year old victim was declared DOA approximately 6 minutes after he arrived on the scene. The call that forced him out of bed that night was now a fatal crime scene he would have to not only investigate, but he knew he would have to notify a loving family that their daughter and sister was gone. We all know these crashes cause devastation to the family and friends who love the victim, but we often forget the trauma the first responders experience from these traumatic scenes and investigations. Nearly three years after Ally's death, her mom sat down with Trooper Polyard to talk about that night and the devastation drunk drivers create on our highways.
