You'll find free content in the LI articles and posts that are shared from our profiles and on alloracollective.com/blog I grew up in NYC, moved myself to LA, experienced company-sponsored relocations from LA to Seattle then Seattle to Amsterdam, NL and then independently relocated back to California to figure out how to work for myself so I could return to living abroad but not within the constraints of a company. I've since lived in San Diego, CA and for the past two years have experienced life in Athens ??, Barcelona ??, Montenegro ??, Lima ??, and Mexico City ??. I spent over a year exploring and discovering what I wanted to do with my 20+ years of experience and expertise, the service I would be proud to provide, the standard of quality I value and then testing, experimenting, designing and building it. I launched Allora Collective in April of 2020 and just before launch I had to pivot all of my relocation content and plans because we went into lockdown. I immediately realized that my development work aligned because as much as I really wanted to help other people explore relocations, our careers are fundamental because that is how we pay for the lives we want. That unexpected pivot perfectly grounded my service in careers and the life style choices we can explore across working from home, hybrid, remote, in-office or working and traveling. I had the opportunity to focus on how people were exploring and reflecting on their lives and careers during that time and how each person's ideal balance of face to face social interaction vs virtual is different. Post lockdowns we saw an explosion of people wanting to work and travel and re-center their careers around their daily life, not center the lives around their careers (and this, I love!). It's ok if your career is who you are, it is equally ok if your career is how fund the life you want or something in between. There is no correct answer, there is only personalization and throughout our lives what we want and what we need will change. Embrace the change, exercise patience, practice agility, be adaptable, make value-based decisions, don't rush...slow is smooth & smooth is fast, give yourself space to imagine as often as possible, take action to make it happen, ask for help and listen to yourself when you know something is not right. Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout this Allora adventure and thank you to everyone who has let me support them. ?? ??

I have been a little quiet on here since the start of the year, quite honestly I have been run off my feet! But also I have been struggling to process the rising tide of extremist views (and actions) I am seeing aimed directly at DE&I and how we as a community should respond. I understand the appeal of extremism to many people, because extremism is EASY. It gives them an EASY answer to all the hardest questions like why am I not successful? Why didn't I get chosen for that job? It gives them someone to BLAME! But I would appeal to everyone who sees this to stick together and choose the HARDER road, the road where we have to work together as humans to solve the very biggest and very smallest problems alike.

I recently ran my first ultra—100km through Patagonia—battling strong winds, snow, freezing temperatures, and even hypothermia. Coming from a swimming background, I trained myself (4-months) but along the way, I noticed gaps in fitness apps designed for cross-training athletes. This experience inspired me to write an article from both a product designer and athlete perspective. I’ve analyzed these tools to uncover opportunities for innovation and user-centric growth in emerging cultural trends. ...
