When my wife and I got married we had big plans for all the adventures we wanted to take together in life. But we didn't have a lot of money to make them happen. My wedding day gift to her was a letter breaking down a plan for our first trip to Iceland. I hadn't bought anything yet, the trip was a full year away, and it was all theoretical. But I had put in the work to create the plan and she put her faith in me that I would come through. We saved up for the next year and went on a trip that changed our life (and led to two more return trips). In the note I promised her a "Life of Adventure." For the first five years of our marriage, we did as much adventuring as possible. Then we had our first son, the next month COVID hit, and over the next few years I went through several job changes and we had our second son. As much as we wanted adventure for ourselves and our kids, it had become much harder. But getting outside, hiking, exploring nature, kayaking, and breathing in fresh air remained our favorite things in the world. Living in the middle of 8 million people in Dallas-Fort Worth, we started to realize this wasn't the life we wanted for ourselves or our kids anymore. We started looking for a place that more aligned with what we wanted for our family. After years of researching and weighing all of our options we settled on Chattanooga, TN. Why? Well, a lot of reasons, but one of them you can see in the photo below. That's Foster Falls State Park, a 45 minute drive from the city. This spring we're moving from Dallas-Fort Worth out to Chattanooga, TN. We're really leaning into this "Life of Adventure" idea now. Owning Bedgood Marketing and being able to work wherever I want is a major reason that we can actually do this. It also helps having amazing clients who are willing to give me a little break as I deal with all of the complications of a big move like this. People of Chattanooga, I would love to connect once we get out there in a few months.
