ATTENTION SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS : The Corporate Transparency Act: FinCEN Resumes Beneficial Ownership Reporting ?? ?? Following the U.S. District Court ruling in Smith v. U.S. Department of the Treasury on February 18, 2025, FinCEN has reinstated the Corporate Transparency Act's beneficial ownership information (BOI) reporting requirements. In response to stakeholder feedback, FinCEN has extended the compliance deadline by 30 days. Important Developments: ?? Beneficial ownership reporting requirements are now active and mandatory for applicable entities ? The new filing deadline is March 21, 2025, for most reporting companies ?? FinCEN is currently reviewing potential modifications to reduce compliance burdens, with particular attention to small businesses and entities deemed lower-risk ?? What This Means for Your Business: With reporting requirements back in effect, companies should begin gathering the necessary information and preparing their submissions to meet the March deadline.
