Congratulations to Allina Health Emergency Medical Services (EMS), recent honorees of the Minnesota Department of Health's prestigious Stroke Quality Improvement Award in Operational Excellence! In collaboration with Allina Health System Stroke Director Dr. Ganesh Asaithambi, EMS implemented the VAN (Vision, Aphasia, Neglect) assessment, which helps EMS personnel identify large vessel occlusion strokes in the field and prepare patients for definitive care at a stroke center. The accolade highlights the EMS team's dedication to improving early stroke detection and treatment – and illustrates the commitment of Allina Health care team members to enhancing patient care and outcomes.
