Allied's on the move! Over the past few days, our leadership team attended and spoke at two major conferences in healthcare! Allied Physicians Group CEO, Dr. Kerry Fierstein, spoke at the American Academy of Pediatrics Experience conference in Orlando, FL. She gave attendees insight into the continuous changes we face in healthcare and how to navigate through the changes that lie ahead. Allied’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Experience Officer, Leslie Baker, co-led a brainstorming session at the Patient Experience Officer Summit in Texas this past weekend. Leslie opened the floor for conversations on strategies to enhance the patient experience and obtain operational excellence. Keep up the great work!

Allied Foundation’s Diaper Giveaway was a success last week! Our foundation helped over 100 families by providing diapers and wipes to families in need. This diaper drive brings awareness to those who sometimes go without the basic necessities to care for their child. With 1 in 2 families experiencing diaper need across America, it is crucial we spread awareness and help those in need. We are thrilled our foundation could help such an important cause!

Join us Tuesday, October 15, 2024, @ 7:30 pm for a presentation on The Long Road to Metabolic Surgery: A Case Study of An Adolescent Female with Obesity and Multiple Comorbidities by Dyan Hes, MD, FAAP. This talk will focus on a 9-year case study of a girl with obesity. This case focuses on obesity as a chronic illness. It will discuss the different modalities to treat obesity for youth, including medications, behavioral health, and surgery. New medication guidelines, the comorbidities of obesity in youth will also be discussed, as well as the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery Pediatric Committee guidelines, the specialty of obesity medicine in pediatrics, and a brief review of medications used to treat obesity in youth.
