?? Do You Have Enough Insurance Coverage for Wildfire Losses? ?? In the wake of the recent Palisades and Pasadena wildfires, many homeowners may think they're fully covered—until they file a claim and discover unexpected limitations in their policies. On the latest episode of the All Things Wildfire podcast, Tim Bauer breaks down the three key areas of wildfire insurance coverage: ?? Structure Coverage – Repairs or rebuilds your home, but do you have enough coverage to reflect today’s rising construction costs? ??? Contents Coverage – Replaces personal belongings, but some policies cap certain high-value items. Are your valuables adequately insured? ?? Additional Living Expenses (ALE) – Covers temporary housing, meals, and expenses if you're displaced. But how long will your policy cover you? Many homeowners assume they’re protected, only to be shocked by policy exclusions and coverage gaps when disaster strikes. That’s why reviewing your policy with your insurance broker is critical and ensuring you have the right coverage before the next wildfire. ??? ?? Red Flag Warning Tips: Prevention Strategies That Work The Soto Wildfire in Jurupa Valley highlights the ever-present danger of wildfire season, especially during Red Flag Warnings. These warnings are issued when three critical conditions align: 1?? Strong Winds: Fuel the rapid spread of embers and flames. 2?? Low Humidity: Dries out vegetation, turning it into kindling. 3?? Dry Fuels: Grass, brush, and trees become highly flammable. ?? Prevention is Key ?? While we can’t control the weather, we can take action to reduce risks: ? Clear dry vegetation and debris around your home. ? Use ember-resistant materials for vents, roofs, and fences. ? Spray fire retardant on hillsides to help reduce ignition. At Allied Restoration Services, we’re here to assist with wildfire prevention and recovery. From applying fire retardants to deodorizing properties after a fire, we provide comprehensive solutions to protect your home and help you recover quickly. Let’s work together to stay safe, prepared, and resilient. Prevention saves lives and property—don’t wait until it’s too late. ?? A wildfire has broken out in Malibu, forcing evacuations and destroying homes. The National Weather Service has issued a "Particularly Dangerous Situation" Red Flag warning, signaling extremely hazardous conditions. This advisory, which will remain in effect through Tuesday afternoon, is driven by strong Santa Ana winds, gusting up to 60 mph in the coastal areas and valleys of Ventura and Los Angeles counties. This is the same type of warning that preceded the devastating Mountain Fire in Ventura County last month. Stay alert, and be ready to evacuate if needed. Keep the Allied Disaster Defense number on hand for retardant spraying during the emergency, and once the evacuations are lifted, contact Allied for an expert consultation on interior smoke damage. 888-860-1003 USAA Inc PURE Insurance AIG Alliant Insurance Services Chubb The Cincinnati Insurance Companies Vault Insurance Kin Insurance Private Risk Management Association (PRMA) Paul Tanner Alex Rosenfeld, CAPI Aon Affinity Travel Practice Farmers Insurance Susie Hanasab David, CAPI, CCIC Kurt Thoennessen, CAPI Heather Posner, CPRIA James Milek Kelly Greene CPCU, CAPI Deserie Thigpen Lauraleigh Weaver
