A few of our female leaders attended the Indiana Bankers Association Banking on Women Conference last week. Always an amazing opportunity to grow and network with amazing women from across the state!
I was honored to attend IBA's Banking on Women conference with these beautiful and brilliant bankers. The conference was a great reminder of the importance and value of connections.

Tuesday was a BIG day for Alliance Bank. We closed in the morning on a property to build a new office on the Oxford Town Square. That afternoon we donated all of our existing buildings (on the opposite corner of the Square) to our local main street organization, Discover Oxford! Small towns are making a comeback and we are humbled to be part of the revitalization...

We support so many wonderful causes in the communities we serve, but this one just feels so important. The fine folks at Mary T. Klinker Resource Center are working hard to open the doors of Restoring Hope to heal local Veterans. We encourage you to take a minute to read their story and ask yourself how you might support their mission. https://lnkd.in/gFkXJvmV

Let's take a minute to congratulate Catie Diener and Laura Myers for their recent graduation from the Leadership White County program! For seven months, these ladies have learned more about the County and honed their leadership skills. Together, with their classmates, they went one step further to better the community. The class raised over $7,000 for Altherr Nature Park and are setting up little bilingual libraries across White County. Congrats, Catie and Laura!

Congratulations to Appleseed Rensselaer on their 1st Birthday! Adam, their board, and dedicated team are doing amazing work to meet the childcare shortage in our community. We're humbled to support their efforts financially over a 5-year commitment and look to Appleseed Childhood Education to be a model for our region.
Last weekend Appleseed Childhood Education celebrated the one year birthday of Appletree Rensselaer, the affordable, quality child care center we created in Rensselaer. YAY!! We have provided over 100,000 of child care to the children and families of Rensselaer. Children grow, parents advance their careers, employers can count on those parents. And we've created 20 new jobs. Everyone wins. Here's the catch. Affordable, quality child care in rural (and urban) areas lose money. There is no way getting around it. Appletree lost money every day in the last year. It's losing money today. Rensselaer believes that affordable, quality child care is essential infrastructure for a modern rural community. And so it has invested in it. Local government, local employers, local philanthropy, and local individuals have invested in Appleseed to the tune of over $2mm. If your place is thinking about doing something like this, know there are no "grants," there is no "state funding," there is no "federal funding." It takes people and it takes time. Look what together we created.
