ACHP joins the Advanced Care at Home Coalition in calling on Congress to extend the CMS Acute Hospital at Home waiver past its expiration date at the end of the year. A recent Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services report shows that the Hospital at Home model improves patient outcomes while ensuring long-term access to care that is delivered in the comfort of patients’ homes. A five-year extension is crucial for continuing to collect data that will shape the future of a permanent care pathway and improve access to underserved communities. With bipartisan support and more than 400 hospitals already participating, extending the waiver offers an opportunity to enhance care delivery at home.
