Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! At AMM 72% of the patient population is Hispanic or Latino. Many AMM staff are bilingual in Spanish and English to be able to better communicate with patients during their appointments and the health and wellness programs.

For 20 years, AMM has stood in the healthcare gap for our neighbors who do not have health insurance and would otherwise not have the healthcare they need. AMM provides access to compassionate, whole-person primary care for working, uninsured adults in order to reduce health disparities in Wake County. AMM's vision is that all Wake County residents have access to quality healthcare and the self-determination to improve their health and well-being. Our holistic approach to long-term health involves primary care, mental health care, and wellness programs. Medical services include: ? Primary care for chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension ? Acute care for minor illnesses such as strep throat, pink eye and flu ? Select on-site specialty care, including: Cardiology, ENT, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Endocrinology, Wound Care, Physical Therapy, Orthopedics ? Select on-site screenings, including: cardiac testing, mammograms, dental ? Access to affordable prescription medication through Patient Assistance Programs and Crisis Medication Program ? Off-site referrals for specialty care through Wake County Medical Society Project Access ? Pastoral Care & Counseling Program, including clinicians trained in Pastoral Counseling, Chaplaincy, Licensed Clinical Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapy ? "Healthy Steps" Wellness Program, including: ? Diabetes Education & Prevention programming ? Cooking & nutrition classes ? Garden Education and access to 2,000 pounds of fresh produce from on-site Community Garden ? Exercise: Walk with a Doc walking program, Zumba, Yoga, Million Step Challenge Alliance programs result in improved health outcomes, efficient use of financial and staff/volunteer resources, and dignified patient care. The clinic is open from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM daily, and provides 24-hour coordination of a patient's medical needs.

This month AMM has been hosting a cooking and nutrition class on Wednesday evenings called Food Smarts! Patients are invited to join AMM's Registered Dietician, Jaycee Reilly in cooking a new recipe and learning about various topics such as creating a wholesome diet, understanding how to read food labels, and the overall best practices for healthy living!

Starting this month, AMM is a healthcare partner of the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC. If a patient expresses that they are in need of food, AMM's staff can provide them with a box of non-perishable food. AMM is very excited about this new partnership and how it will provide additional patient aid!

This morning's rain didn't stop a group from Law Offices of James Scott Farrin from volunteering in the AMM garden today! ??? They worked diligently through the rainy conditions with smiles as they planted a spring mix of greens, and picked sungold tomatoes for AMM's patients. Thank you so much to the volunteers from James Scott Farrin for braving the conditions to work in the garden!

It was a fabulous Day of Service at Alliance yesterday. Mark your calendars for 9/11/25!
Thank you so much to all of the volunteers who came out to AMM today for our 9/11 Day of Service! We had a great day filled with kit building and gardening! Franklin Academy students and a few chaperones worked all morning picking produce and weeding the garden. They also helped build 100 flu kits for patients! AMM also hosted an on-site kit build for volunteers and staff to have an opportunity to give back through dental, menstrual, and flu kits!

This weekend, Scout Michaela dropped off her Eagle Scout Project at AMM's garden. Michaela constructed new produce processing tables with sinks. These sinks will make rinsing and processing vegetables for patients much easier. Thank you Michaela for choosing AMM to be part of your Eagle Scout journey! ?? ???
