?? Special Screening Invitation! ?? Please join me on Saturday December 7th at 4:00 pm at the Trylon Cinema for a special screening of No Place To Grow Old in celebration of the 5th anniversary of Minnehaha Commons, made possible by our collaboration with Alliance Housing Inc, Property Solutions & Services, Inc., and Touchstone Mental Health. Minnehaha Commons provides essential affordable and supportive housing for individuals 55+ who are experiencing homelessness. This powerful documentary, directed by Davey Schaupp and produced by our partners at Humans For Housing, dives into the critical issue of senior homelessness in Portland—a challenge that also impacts communities here in Minnesota and across the nation. The screening includes a 45-minute film followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with the Minnehaha Commons team and a resident, offering firsthand insights into the challenges and vital support available for seniors facing homelessness. The Crisis of Senior Homelessness in America: Nearly 1 in 5 people without stable housing are 55 and older. In 2023, 138,098 adults over 55 were homeless. Nearly 1 in 4 unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness were over 55. By 2030, homelessness among older adults is projected to nearly triple. ?? Don’t miss this chance to learn, engage, and advocate! ??? Get your tickets here: https://lnkd.in/gwSiVZix Join us in raising awareness and making a difference!
