Alliance for Workplace Excellence

The Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) is a non-profit group that supports the pursuit of workplace excellence, encourages health and wellness programs and creating both sustainable workplaces and diverse and inclusive workplaces, through training and education, awards of recognition and community awareness. The AWE awards program is an annual recognition program that runs from late September - June. Applications from companies of all sizes, industry types, and locations within the United States are accepted. There are 4 formal awards that companies may apply for: 1.) Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval: recognizes employers who show an outstanding commitment to overall workplace quality. Applicants are evaluated on programs in communication, diversity, employee growth, life-work balance, and more. Applicants are also eligible to apply for the Certificate of Recognition as an Age-Friendly Employer: celebrates employers who value experienced workers, fosters an age-positive work culture, and excels in recruiting, training, engaging and retaining workers age 50+. 2.) Health & Wellness Seal of Approval: recognizes employers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to employee health and wellness and have led the way by developing innovative programs. 3.) EcoLeadership Award: recognizes employers demonstrating visionary leadership and an outstanding commitment to environmentally sustainable workplaces and efficient use of resources. 4.) Diversity Champion Award: recognizes employers who are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce. Applicants are also eligible to apply for the Certificate of Recognition for Best Practices Supporting Workers of All Abilities, which recognizes employers who particularly thrive as an employer with strong recruitment and retention efforts for disabled workers and veterans.
