?? Release alert -- SVT-AV1 v3.0 has arrived!
SVT-AV1 v3.0 has been released! This new version a long overdue API cleanup that is not backwards compatible. This version also contains further quality vs speed tradeoff improvements especially in the fast-decode 2 mode which allows software decoders to run more efficiently on mobile devices. Furthermore, it comes with more Arm Neon optimizations! Special thanks to Gianni R. and Julio Barba for their contributions on pulling in some of the features from the SVT-AV1-PSY fork. At #ICIP2024 in Abu Dhabi, #AOMedia hosted a workshop featuring insights from members at Google, Meta, Apple, and Tencent. Discussions covered the development of the next-generation AOM Video Codec (AVM), testing updates, hardware subgroup activities, and software implementation progress.
