We shared our recommendation on the U.S. AI Action Plan. By adopting a risk-based approach to AI governance, modernizing procurement processes, prioritizing AI in cybersecurity, fostering public-private collaboration, and investing in workforce development, the United States can reinforce its position as a global leader in artificial intelligence. ADI stands ready to support these efforts and collaborate with policymakers to achieve these objectives. https://lnkd.in/diae9eQP

The Alliance for Digital Innovation submitted?comments?regarding its concerns with the proposed amendment to the Federal Acquisition Regulation related to Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). ADI hopes that its comments on this rulemaking will contribute to strengthening the protection of sensitive information, understanding what constitutes sensitive information, establishing clear standards for marking sensitive information provided by the government, defining the government’s ownership and responsibility for determining CUI, and ensuring robust security requirements for CUI as it pertains to federal contractors. https://lnkd.in/eeYJErGk

Important new research on quantum supremacy from ADI member D-Wave
Very proud to share that D-Wave is the first to demonstrate #quantum computational supremacy on a useful, real-world problem with relevance to materials discovery. ? In a new peer-reviewed paper published in Science, research shows that D-Wave’s quantum computer performed the most complex magnetic materials simulation?problem in the study in minutes and with a level of accuracy that would take nearly one million years using the Frontier supercomputer at Oak Ridge National Laboratory —and more than the world’s annual electricity consumption. ? The broader quantum computing research and development community is collectively building an understanding of the types of computations for which quantum computing can overtake classical computing. This work is an important step toward sharpening that understanding with clear evidence of where our quantum computer was able to outperform classical methods. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gKEGcsKP

As state governments across the country seek to eliminate waste, streamline operations, and improve public services, many are turning to efficiency programs inspired by the federal government’s new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative. While reducing costs and eliminating red tape have been the most publicized goals of these programs, there is also a new emphasis on replacing expensive, outdated legacy IT systems. Not only would such efforts enhance citizen services, they would, more importantly, bolster cybersecurity in the public sector. As cyber threats continue to evolve, securing government infrastructure is more critical than ever. Learn more about progress and opportunities for states in our latest blog post. https://lnkd.in/ey9eggWG

From Inside Cybersecurity: Two industry groups are urging House and Senate leadership to make an investment in the work of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency by providing an additional $250 million for fiscal 2025 in appropriations, as work continues to reach an agreement among lawmakers on federal funding for the current fiscal year. “As Congress debates funding for the remainder of FY 2025 and works with the administration to identify cost savings and efficiencies, we urge you to increase the budget for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to fund important functions,” the groups say in?a Feb. 11 letter?to House and Senate leadership. https://lnkd.in/eQTVSmnQ

The Alliance for Digital Innovation and the Cybersecurity Coalition sent a?letter?to leaders in Congress to urge them to increase the budget for the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to fund important functions. This investment would simply put cyber funding on track to restore prior-year levels adjusted for inflation and is critical to ensure the agency can defend the nation against the growing number of cybersecurity threats. To effectively address these challenges, the groups recommend that CISA’s budget be expanded in key areas: defending federal civilian networks, coordinating national cyber defense and information sharing, and leading efforts to safeguard U.S. critical infrastructure, particularly in response to escalating cyber threats from the People’s Republic of China. https://lnkd.in/dtZACT-3
