Today Governor Ned Lamont announced that the CT general assembly has approved legislation that allocates $17 million to cover a gap in federal assistance to the state this winter from the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The legislation signed into law today by Governor Lamont designates $13.5 million in supplemental aid for the Connecticut Energy Assistance program (CEAP) this winter season. Yesterday we had the opportunity to kick off Thanksgiving a bit early. M&T Bank partnered with Alliance For Community Empowerment to set up a pop up turkey giveaway. A van came filled with hundreds of fresh turkeys and outside the Alliance For Community Empowerment location they were distributed by a team of volunteers and workers from Alliance.
