Participating in the ACIR (Alliance For Commercialization and Innovation Research) taking part in Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) course has been an invaluable journey for my entrepreneurial development. The program provided exceptional insights into the practical challenges and strategic considerations crucial for launching a successful business. The course distinguished itself through its outstanding faculty and guest speakers. I was particularly inspired by interactions with remarkable professionals, including: Erik Azulay, whose pitch feedback was instrumental in refining my entrepreneurial approach Emilia Smith from the US Consulate, who warmly welcomed our cohort and shared invaluable diplomatic perspectives Senthil Kumar, who provided alumni assistance was exemplary, offering guidance that went beyond traditional mentorship. Distinguished guests Pooja Vidyashankar from NASSCOM, who shared profound industry insights. Meeting professionals like Preeksha Kapoor from ACIR and Dr Bijay Kumar Sahu from NRDC further enriched my learning experience, making the program not just educational, but also professionally transformative. This incredible journey has been a turning point in my entrepreneurial aspirations, and I am so proud to be part of a platform that fosters growth, practical learning, and empowerment. From understanding customer needs to learning the real-world application of startup strategies, I’ve gained invaluable insights. This program has reshaped my perspective on financial planning, setting achievable goals, and building a strong foundation for my dreams. The inspiring stories and innovative ideas shared by the amazing women entrepreneurs in this cohort have strengthened my belief in the power of community and resilience. Graduation Day from the AWE Program 2024!?? It feels surreal to officially graduate from the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Program 2024 alongside my partner, Parina Parwani. On November 21st and 22nd, we concluded this transformative journey with a capstone event. ? On the first day, we attended engaging workshops on marketing, digital marketing, and finance which were insightful, to say the least! ? The second day was the D-day, a pitch fest where all the start-ups presented their ideas. We were truly honored to have esteemed dignitaries like Jennifer Larson: U.S. Consul General of Hyderabad, Emilia Smith: Public Diplomacy Officer, Senthil Kumar: Public Engagement Specialist, and Dr Zahoorullah S MD: ALEAP WeHub, supporting us throughout this incredible event. A heartfelt thank you to Preksha Kapoor and Erik Azulay for your unwavering guidance and support. Your insights have been instrumental in shaping our journey. A special mention to Dr. Vijayalakshmi R ma’am, our mentor and cohort facilitator— you believed in us from the start, opened doors we didn’t even know existed, and empowered us every step of the way. Having you as our mentor has been a true blessing. This 4-month journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. We didn’t know where life would take us, but AWE turned out to be an incredible opportunity to refine and present our idea, VieVoyage. The AWE Program, organized by the U.S. Consulate General Hyderabad in collaboration with Alliance for Commercialization and Innovation Research (ACIR) at St. Francis College for Women, is a testament to the power of women’s entrepreneurship. It gave us a platform to grow, connect, and create a future for our ideas? The DreamBuilder Program, a core component of AWE, was immensely helpful in sharpening our entrepreneurial skills. From detailed lessons on business management to practical activities like pricing calculations, it kept us hooked with its interactive format. Hearing real stories from entrepreneurs about their journeys and challenges was incredibly inspiring - it’s something I always love! One of the biggest takeaways from this program was meeting incredible women entrepreneurs- some already running successful ventures, others just getting started. Among these phenomenal women, we (along with Misha Sheth and Nidhi Prabhu founders of Fruit Fiesta) were the only students. It was truly humbling to share the room with such empowering individuals who overcome every challenge, be it communication barriers or resource constraints, and still persevere with resilience and determination. #YouareAWEsme!
