In October, we gathered over 400 educators, public health leaders, and industry experts in Little Rock, Arkansas for three days of celebration and professional development at the 2024 America’s Healthiest Schools Leaders Summit. Attendees from winning schools in over 30 states shared insights and best practices, celebrated achievements in health and well-being, and strategized for a healthier, more equitable future for our schools and communities.? The highlight of the Summit was the Friday evening Recognition Ceremony, hosted in the Great Hall at the William J. Clinton Library and Museum, where this year’s 66 All-Star Schools were individually celebrated for achieving recognition in all nine America’s Healthiest Schools topic areas. Healthier Generation also announced its 2024 Corporate Hero Awardee, Del Monte Foods, Inc., honored for its commitment to supporting food and nutrition access through the Nourishing Families by Nourishing Schools program. A big thank you to Clinton Foundation and the William J. Clinton Library and Museum for hosting our award celebration. And many thanks to our partners and supporters, including American Heart Association, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Cairn Guidance, Del Monte Foods, Inc., Elevance Health, Elkay Manufacturing, GoNoodle, Kaiser Permanente, Kohl's, Lakeshore Learning Materials, and Strala Yoga for supporting such a transformative event for attendees. Last week Jonathan Wallace and I attended the EdWeek Market Brief Summit in Denver, CO! We were graced with the presence of many district employees, superintendents, and EdWeek Market Brief employees such as Sean Cavanagh to learn around the critical tends shaping the K-12 market. As attendees, we got insights on the biggest challenges facing district administrators, how district spending will change especially for professional development, and which marketing strategies work! We also attended a VIP networking dinner at one of my personal favorite restaurants, Guard and Grace! I used to round on my hospitalized patients at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, but today I got to spend my morning there attending the Chicago Public Schools Whole Child Partner Summit as a National Advisor with Alliance for a Healthier Generation. It was great to learn more about Healthy CPS, the CPS Whole School Safety Plan Framework, and more. I hope to see lots of CPS schools on Healthier Generation's 2025 America's Healthiest Schools awardee list! https://lnkd.in/gQAS5U8t
