Our new logo, anchored by a strong triangle, represents Alliance’s stability and strength within our communities, while its graphic elements reflect the diverse, upward journeys of each scholar. Over the past two decades, Alliance has transformed alongside our scholars, families, and community partners. Our recent Strong Schools, Stronger Communities conference brought together leaders across LA to reimagine the future of K-12 public education. Earlier last month, Alliance College-Ready Public Schools proudly hosted Strong Schools, Stronger Communities, an impactful conference focused on the state of K-12 education in Los Angeles and the critical role schools play in building thriving communities. Leaders from California’s education, nonprofit, government, and business sectors came together, uniting in Alliance’s mission to create a coalition dedicated to supporting community schools of excellence. This collaborative effort directly aligns with Alliance’s long-term strategic vision to foster educational success and empower neighborhoods across Los Angeles. ?? Mohan Scholars Take Action Against Substance Abuse ?? We’re proud to share that Alliance Dr. Olga Mohan High School scholars Skye Price and Amy Cabrera are part of Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles’ Collective of Youth Leaders (COYL). Through CHLA and COYL, they’re working to create solutions that help prevent substance abuse and opioid overdoses.? These inspiring Youth Leaders are collaborating with Alliance to advocate for policy changes, like making it easier for scholars to carry NARCAN at school. “It’s about saving lives if they see someone who needs help,” says Program Manager Irene Lim.? A huge thank you to scholars Amy and Skye for making our schools and city safer! You are true community advocates!? #charterschools

Meet Marlen Quintero Perez, an inspiring alum from Alliance Collins Family College-Ready High School and a panelist at OneAlliance Day 2024!? Since graduating from Collins in 2012, Marlen achieved the remarkable honor of becoming a Triple Bruin by earning a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, and doctorate from UCLA! In 2022, she completed her PhD and is now shaping the next generation as an Assistant Professor in Child and Adolescent Development at California State University, Northridge (CSUN).? Join us in celebrating Marlen’s incredible accomplishments and continued dedication to education! ??

Our Home Office recently hosted a Día de los Muertos activity, where staff shared cherished memories of loved ones on a beautiful altar. We invite all staff to participate in both our virtual and physical ofrendas, and encourage everyone to celebrate and honor the lives of those who have touched their hearts in meaningful ways.

Earlier this month, we held our second annual Parent University Conference at California State University, Dominguez Hills. This event, designed by Alliance families for Alliance families, offered an empowering day of resources and workshops to guide our scholars on their path to college. Each session was offered in both Spanish and English, ensuring accessibility for all. We’re proud to provide this community-driven experience, fostering collaboration, shared learning, and a strong sense of support for our scholars’ futures. #collegeready

As we celebrate 20 years of educational excellence, we look back at a key milestone in 2007-2008 when Alliance Patti and Peter Neuwirth Leadership Academy and Alliance Jack H. Skirball Middle School opened their doors. These schools have been pivotal in shaping the leaders of tomorrow through dedication to academic achievement and community building.
