We’re excited to share that Alliance Architects had the opportunity to send two of our team members to the 2024 Chicago Build Expo at McCormick Place in Downtown Chicago! This incredible event was packed with insightful workshops, engaging panel discussions, and a showcase of innovative products that are shaping the future of our industry. The Chicago Build Expo is more than just an event—it’s a hub where the construction and design community across the Midwest converges to spark innovation and share expertise. Known for its vibrant exhibit floor and discussions, professionals from all corners of the field come together to exchange ideas and set new standards in building and design. The expo featured groundbreaking solutions, from sustainable building materials to cutting-edge construction technology, each offering practical and impactful advancements for builders and designers alike. Vendors displayed products that focused on enhancing structural resilience, improving energy efficiency, and embracing eco-friendly alternatives. We were particularly impressed by how these new solutions aim to address challenges related to urban density, climate resilience, and resource management, creating safer, more efficient, and forward-thinking construction practices. The workshops and panels explored vital topics, including steps to incorporate sustainability into projects and how technologies like AI-driven project management and 3D modeling are reshaping construction. Discussions on regenerative design highlighted practices to restore resources and provided a roadmap for sustainable urban development. Each speaker, from tech innovators to seasoned architects, shared insights that inspired us to apply these ideas in our work. We’re deeply grateful for this experience and the wealth of knowledge gained. Alliance welcomes Don Davis as their Director of Operations in Texas. As Director of Operations in Texas, Don is responsible for overseeing all Texas located staff as well as local staff that are assigned to work on projects located in Texas. Managing the Texas projects includes collaboration and developing design solutions, performing quality assurance reviews, the implementation of design direction, developing technical drawings and specifications, directing the overall project schedule and budget, supervising, direct, and properly sequence the activities of a project team, reviewing building codes and local zoning, preparing and presenting design exhibits, coordinate all client contact and maintain close working relationships at all levels throughout the project. He is also?going to be instrumental in developing new business within the state. ?

Anonymous donors have made the addition of Stained Glass Windows at St. Pius X Church a reality. Rick Podrasky of Alliance Architects managed the process to install work 5 new stained-glass windows throughout the church. The project was special for Rick as it was a continuation of his work on the original church project, along with beautifying his own parish of nearly 20 years. National Church Residences has been recognized on a national level through Affordable Housing Finance as one of the top affordable housing providers undergoing substantial rehabilitation in 2023. National Church Residences is ranked #5 overall and the only non-profit developer in this category. The Alliance team has been a big contributor to this success, providing design assistance to over 75% of the total units under construction in 2023! A team from Alliance was lucky enough to be able to participate in this years Rebuilding Together Project Rebuilding Together is a nonprofit, community-based partnership of volunteers from local government, businesses, and other nonprofits, that rehabilitate the homes of low-income, disabled, or elderly homeowners and improve neighborhoods. On two April Saturdays each year, approximately 1,000 skilled and unskilled volunteers join together to make repairs to around 15 homes in a selected St. Joseph County neighborhood. All repairs are completed at no cost to the homeowner. South Bend Heritage began its partnership with Rebuilding Together in 2014 and now provides staff support to assist in client solicitation, client selection, and coordination of volunteers for home repairs.

Alliance welcomes Rezk Hennen to the Team. He comes to Alliance after graduating from IUPUI where he received a degree in Electrical Engineering. Rezk started with a site visit to Downes Manor in Highland Park, MI. in a snowstorm, that's dedication!

Alliance has welcomed back another employee who spent time exploring other pursuits before re-joining the fold. Luis Olquin was inducted into the "Leblang-Arang Club". Welcome Home!
