Congrats to Ualá and Pierpaolo Barbieri on the close of an additional $66M, on top of their previously announced $300M Series E. The second close includes participation from Mexican media corporation TelevisaUnivision, a key strategic partner in Ualá's growing presence in Mexico. “Due to overwhelming demand from our investors, we decided to raise more,” Barbieri told Bloomberg. “That means we can invest to grow more in Mexico, and also continue betting on the ecosystem of payments, investment and credit in Argentina.” Read more in comments below.

Earlier this month, Valar Atomics unveiled its Ward Zero Thermal Test Reactor, a first reactor prototype that will allow Valar to collect real data on the future production of low-cost, carbon neutral synthetic fuels. Before creating a uranium prototype, founder Isaiah Taylor’s strategy is to build the reactor in non-nuclear form, testing it rigorously over temperature and pressure to exhibit behavior in a range of different conditions. Congrats to the team on such a major milestone! The first of many on their path to scaling atomic energy on an industrial level.

This week, the New York-based company announced that it raised $83 million in a new funding round led by Valor Equity Partners, in addition to its expanded partnership with Equinox.? ? “We think we’ve hit the sweet spot,” said Aescape founder and CEO Eric Litman.
