Last week our staff took a tour of Parallel Apartments, once home to Coco Keys, and will soon become a multi-family project with 242 units. With 15 different unit types, covered parking and surface parking options, amenities like lounge spaces, community kitchenettes, meeting rooms, dog wash, business space, fitness room and cardio room, sky lounge, pool and exterior courtyard space, this is going to lease up fast! This morning we celebrated a huge milestone with our clients Joslyn Art Museum at their ribbon cutting of the new Rhonda and Howard Hawks Pavilion. Designed to meet The Union for Contemporary Art’s programmatic needs and support the mission, our design team transformed and expanded an adjacent historic building into a new black box theater that includes a scene shop, rehearsal space, dressing rooms, control booth, and reception area. The Shirley Tyree Theater is modeled for maximum flexibility and offers multiple configuration options for various performance types. The ruby tones punctuate the quiet interior pallet that is surrounded by windows, welcoming visitors and reinforcing the owner’s directive for "radical hospitality," an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome. Located at the confluence of the Little Papillion Creek and an East Omaha storm waterway, the Saddle Creek Retention Treatment Basin manages, screens, and treats city stormwater before reintroducing it back into the creek. Designed with durability and longevity in mind it features architectural precast concrete and anodized metal panels. Analysis and treatment labs, along with offices and conference rooms, are distributed across two floors at the building's center, ensuring an efficient workflow. This architectural design merges functionality with aesthetic appeal, harmonizing various scales and uses within a cohesive structure. With overcast skies, no wind and cooler temps, our APMA cyclists enjoyed the 34th Annual Corporate Cycling Challenge! As a fundraiser for our Omaha bike trails, we look forward to this ride every year. And if you are wondering if Foster purchased a watermelon at the Florence Mill Farmer’s Market as he did last year, you’ll have to view the photos ?? Anne, Sarah and Taylor followed suit and supported with a purchase of produce!

We are sad to bid farewell to our summer interns, Grace, Olivia, and Kate as they return to University of Nebraska-Lincoln for fall semester! This summer they partnered with Engineering Technologies, Inc.'s summer interns on an assessment of buildings on 24th Street, and worked on a variety of projects spanning schools to masterplan work, to healthcare and more. They also participated in community efforts like Aqua Africa and our North Downtown Trash Pick Up, modeled in photo shoots, toured projects, and left us with the most amazing cake ever :)
